Mori Seiki, with its headquarter in Nagoya, expects no negative impact of the natural disasters happened in Japan, for European business and European customers.

At the office in Nagoya as well as the factories in Iga and Nara were no damages caused from the earthquake. Production and business started normal on last Monday. Minor damages on the building in Chiba were repaired in the last days and the production also started regularly. The power is disconnected only in this one plant for about three hours to save energy.
From today’s point of view a delay in machine delivery caused by the impact of the Earthquake and the Tsunami is not expected.

Mori Seiki has besides its operational headquarter in Nagoya (260 km airline distance south from Tokyo), three production locations in Japan. The main factories are located in Iga (350 km south west airline distance from Tokyo) and Nara (370 km airline distance southwest from Tokyo. The smallest factory is located in Chiba ( 50km airline distance east from Tokyo).

Mori Seiki guarantees to make sure that machines which will leave the factories are not contaminated. All machines will be tested against radioactive rays before the delivery. In the area around the production facilities, especially Chiba, the radioactivity is measured permanently guaranteeing to take immediate actions to safe the health of the staff.

An emergency team from Mori Seiki Japan is now in the process investigate local customers to offer help and support in the damaged area. About 14,000 machines are installed at about 5,000 customers. The recovery process at customers has started from this week, 15 March.

All European customers can expect transparent information from Mori Seiki in this matter and a guarantee that delivered machines are not contaminated. The provisioning of spare parts for Europe is in any way not affected as the European Spare Parts center supplying European customers is located in Stuttgart, Germany.
